Graduate Student Assistantship For Graduate Recruitment
Position Description:
The Office of Admissions seeks one doctoral or master’s student to participate in graduate recruiting efforts for UNT graduate programs in a half-time graduate assistantship position. The successful candidate will have strong skills in oral and written communication, interpersonal interactions, time and project management, teamwork, initiative, Microsoft Office programs, and database management.   
Main Duties:
  1. Be a primary resource for students interested in UNT: Provide admission application counseling, general university information, guidance in the graduate school selection process.
  2. Work with departments on targeted on-campus recruitment activities for their participation.
  3. Assist in coordination of on campus events including UNT Preview, graduate school fair, research conferences and group visits. This may include event marketing collateral support.
  4. Review of data for effectiveness of recruitment activities through various resources including UNT’s Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system and miscellaneous professional resources.
  5. Provide campus tours as needed.
  6. Perform in a timely and effective manner a wide variety of in-office and other tasks, as assigned.
  7. Occasional traveling to represent UNT graduate programs at recruiting events in Texas and surrounding states, as needed.
The position requires 20 hours of work per week, but may require adjustments based on travel requirements.  Some weekends are required.
  1. Must have completed at least one semester at UNT.
  2. Full-time enrollment in a graduate program – exceptions for doctoral students in ABD status
  3. A valid driver’s license and a reliable automobile with insurance is required;
  4. Computer skills (i.e., spreadsheet, database, statistical analysis, design software and word processing) are highly desirable.
The assistantship is a 12-month position.  Salary commensurate with candidate’s status in a graduate program. Benefits to the position include networking at other universities, experience in higher education administration, event management, presentations, general statistical analysis and assessment.   Allowance for the tuition benefit program is available.
