|*Job Description:||Assisting the Principal Investigators (Chelliah, Meernik, King) in organizing the conference "Political Instability and Language Endangerment." which will take place at UNT in Fall 2018.
The successful applicant will help with
• Setting up a website advertising the Conference, and updating it;
• Contacting participants and help with travel arrangements for participants
• Researching and finalizing the white paper for the workshop;
• Preparing podcasts, and posting them online;
• Preparing materials or archiving with UNT Digital Library;
• Working with the PIs on logistics, e.g. making sure the invited participants know where to go for talks, lodging, and meals
The successful applicant will be expected to work nineteen (19) hours per week for a total of 15 (noncontiguous) weeks, starting in August 2017, and ending in November 2018. There will be more work towards the summer of 2018.
The successful applicant will travel with the PIs to Washington DC in November 2018 to assist with presentations at the Smithsonian. The cost of travel will be covered by the grant and/or funding from UNT sources.
@ $15/hour for 19 hours per week for 15 weeks + Fringe.
|*Job Requirements:||• Graduate UNT student in Linguistics or Political Science.
• A basic knowledge of documentary and descriptive linguistics
• Willingness to learn how to build website build and update a Weebly website;
• A willingness to learn podcasting and video recording;
• The ability to collaborate and communicate efficiently.
