Lawrence Williams

Associate Professor

 

     Dr. Williams is Professor of French and Applied Linguistics in the Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. His research is primarily centered around sociolinguistic and pragmatic dimensions of language, with specific focus on electronic French discourse in educational and noneducational contexts. Over the past few years, he has also undertaken linguistic landscape fieldwork in Andorra, Cambodia, Canada, Germany, and Texas. He teaches French linguistics and translation as well as a course that prepares future teachers of Languages Other Than English (LOTE) for TExES (Texas Examination of Educator Standards).
